Welcome to IUEA Faculty of Science and Technology
On behalf of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at International University of East Africa (IUEA), let me take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to you as you visit us here, our home in Cyberspace. FST is one of the main Faculties at IUEA offering Information Technology Programs.
Students graduating from our programs are innovators and leaders in the information age. They are deeply knowledgeable in their field, but also adaptable and broad in their capabilities. They design and deploy information and communication technologies to ethically gather and process data from various sources into information and knowledge. From this process, they derive new knowledge and convey it expertly and creatively to help businesses, governments, communities, and other organizations to make informed decisions and take appropriate actions in a world that is ever getting more global and flat. Indeed our programs are geared towards bringing people, technology and information together to create knowledge and subsequently make a contribution to culture, economic well-being, and quality of life in society.
Our students learn from the best people in the field, our faculty members. The faculty members are recognized scholars, thought leaders, and innovators, with their individual intellectual insights, innovations, and value to offer to the field of information technology. Besides teaching, they also demonstrate excellence in research and in their support for the community. In addition to students and academic staff, our administrative staff provides the glue that ties everyone and other stakeholders together.
Our academic staff and students are presently engaged in researching a range of areas, including: data communication and networks, database systems, software engineering, open source software, mobile technologies, management information systems, ICT for development, and innovation and technology transfer. Through research and outreach, our faculty seeks to bridge the digital divide and increase participation in the information economy.
Whether you are a prospective student, a current student, a faculty member, an alumnus, or someone seeking information about our learning and research programs, I hope your visit will enlighten you on who we are and what we offer to our students, staff, alumni, academic community, private sector, government and the general public. Have an enjoyable visit and please return often to see us!
